Farnwell Ellsmere Stauffer & Fern Elizabeth Cline Stauffer
Farnwell, or Bud as he was called in the service, was born June 24, 1922, in Dixon, Illinois. Fern Cline was born August 18, 1922. Bud, worked at the local soda shop while attending Dixon High School. He was a very intelligent and forthright young man. He attended Bradley University in Peoria Illinois on a scholarship. After 2 years he transferred to Purdue University. In 1945 Bud was called to duty and served as an MP on the island of Sai Phan. Fern had just visited her sister in California when Bud was back on leave. Knowing that Fern was the one for him, he called his mother and father in Dixon, Illinois, and asked them to bring Fern to their house. Bud made the phone call that would change their lives. Fern quickly packed her things and flew back to Glendale, California, where she married Bud, her high school sweetheart, on February 15, 1945 at the Little Church of the Flowers in Forest Lawn.
After the war Bud finished his college studies at Purdue University and received a Degree in Electrical Engineering. He and Fern began raising a family in Dixon, IL after his graduation. They had 3 children, two daughters and one son. In March of 2016 Farnwell, Bud passed away at the age of 93. His wife, Fern, still lives in their home in Sun City West, Arizona. She will be 101 in August of 2023.

Children of Cathy and Ron Slater: Shelly Sue Slater Born December 6, 1970, Carrie Jo Slater Born December 14, 1974, Todd Robert Slater Born September 23, 1980. Ron and Cathy reside in Wisconsin during the summer months and Florida during the winter.
Terri Lee Stauffer Born January 24, 1951 married Kerry Lee Atwood November 20, 1969. They had two children: Shaun Robert Atwood Born May 30, 1970, Chelsea Elizabeth Atwood Born April 30, 1974. Terri divorced Kerry in 1976. The last names of Terri, Shaun and Chelsea were legally changed to Stauffer in 1979. In 2001 Terri married Robert Wolfgang Schmidt. They currently reside in Arizona.
Rex Allen Stauffer Born April 20, 1953 Married Deborah Pekora. They reside in Florida
The celebration of Bud and Fern’s 90th birthday. In attendance was there best friend, cousin Leah Cox Adams and her husband Harold, 2 daughters and their husbands, 5 grandchildren and their spouses and 11 great grandchildren. As of 2023 there are two additional great great grandchildren.
